RACE 6 – DARLEY PRIX CORONATION

Thirteen line up for this Listed race over 1600 metres.

Orchid Bloom heads the market for British raider, William Haggas. Never out of the frame, the daughter of Farhh scored over this distance at Newbury on her penultimate start. More was asked last time in the Dick Hern Stakes (Listed Race) when third behind Heredia, an impressive winner justifying favouritism the following month in the Group 3, Atalanta Stakes at Sandown. Atakama returns from a four month break with strong claims for Carlos Laffon-Parias. A debut winner at Chantilly in April, she was last seen chasing home the classy, Immensitude at Parislongchamp in May under regular pilot, Christophe Soumillon.

Andre Fabre trained the winner of the 2022 renewal and fires three darts at the prize, with KAMIYAH my idea of the winner. The daughter of Frankel finished runner-up on her first three starts (including an excellent run behind Ottery over C&D) before a breakthrough win at Chantilly on similar ground to what’s expected here. Her latest run when fifth to Elounda Queen at Deauville was a return to form, and the race is working out with runner-up, Dabawa chasing home Fang in the Prix du Pin at Parislongchamp while the fourth, Immensitude landed the Group 3, Prix Bertrand de Tarragon at Chantilly this month. Bauyrzhan Murzabayev has partnered the selection on the last five occasions and maintains the partnership from the 7 gate.

RACE 6 – PRIX DU JARDIN DU PIQUEUR

An open race where the vote goes to the Stephane Wattel trained GABIJA, winner of a handicap at Chantilly in June. Stepped up in trip last month, the Lawman filly led briefly 200M out but didn’t get home. Theo Bachelot keeps the faith back over his optimum distance. With five career starts she can return to the winner’s circle. The early favourite Inkiostro, a 12 race maiden knocks on the door with four successive runner-up spots. Connections book Christophe Soumillon to go one better. Of the others, Kawareth is an interesting daughter of Oasis Dream, trained by Henri-Francois Devin. She improves for each run and the step up in trip looks ideal.
